Life hack – how to whiten tulle with brilliant green at home

Curtains and bedspreads made of tulle look light and beautiful, but the fabric itself gets dirty too quickly. However, you can whiten tulle made of nylon, organza, and even veils without much effort – few people know that ordinary brilliant green will help with this, informs Ukr.Media.

What to do before the procedure:

  • Remove the tulle and shake to remove dust;
  • Wash stubborn stains by hand with soap;
  • Soak the product in cold soapy water for 30 minutes.

What you will need for whitening:

  • water – 5.5 liters;
  • brilliant green – 25 drops;
  • gauze.

How to whiten tulle with brilliant green:

  • Pour 500 ml of room temperature water into a separate container.
  • Dilute 25 drops of brilliant green in this water.
  • Strain the resulting liquid through cheesecloth. Large particles should not get on the fabric. Otherwise, the brilliant green may stain the tulle, making it difficult to wash.
  • Combine the filtered solution with 5 liters of room temperature water.
  • Dip the tulle product into it.
  • Leave to soak for 5 minutes.
  • During this time, the tulle should be turned over two or three times.
  • Rinse the material in cold, clean water.
