Causes of high-pitched sound

The source of the squeak is a high-frequency transformer. When it is out of order, the unit vibrates, and a person hears unpleasant sounds. In cheap chargers, transformers are often not manufactured according to standards, so they can malfunction right away. In branded power supplies, a factory defect is possible, but even a working device can be easily broken by dropping it or accidentally knocking it against a hard surface.

Why is the squeak not always heard?

Chargers operate at high frequencies. In this case, the voltage of 220V is often changed to 310V. This leads to the creation of alternating current, which passes through a small ferrite transformer. Low voltage is supplied to the output, which creates increased vibrations and a squeak resembling ultrasound. This phenomenon is considered normal, so if the squeak is heard only occasionally, you should not worry.

How dangerous is squeaking?

The sounds made by the charger do not mean that it is out of order. Such a charger can last for years, doing its job well. Moreover, a squeak is not a reason to contact a service center.

The main problem with the beeping sound is that it is an annoying sound that can get louder over time. In addition, there is a small chance that the device will fail, damaging the phone or even causing a short circuit and fire. In the latter case, the danger threatens not only the gadget, but also the person.

Can the problem be fixed?

Repairing the charger is unprofitable, no master will undertake it. Many users tolerate the squeak, but if it is very annoying, the only thing you can do is buy a new device. If the warranty period is still valid, you can contact the seller or call the manufacturer's hotline with a request to replace the purchase.

The squeaking sound of the charger may be a result of a change in the voltage in the network or a breakdown of the device.
