Mandatory contender for the WBC heavyweight title Agit Kabayel has named possible stadiums for his title fight against world champion Oleksandr Usyk. The German boxer stated this in an interview with DAZN.
After Usyk defeated Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven by technical knockout in the 11th round, the German boxer stepped into the ring and challenged the Ukrainian to a fight. During the boxing evening, Usyk accepted the challenge of Cabayel, who is the mandatory challenger for the WBC belt, which currently belongs to Oleksandr
After that, Caballe said that he would like to fight in Germany in front of his home crowd. Earlier, in 2026, Agit already fought in Germany, where he won a convincing victory and received strong support from the stands. The arena where the fight took place was completely sold out: more than 12 thousand tickets were sold, which created one of the most noisy atmospheres in his career.
Caballe emphasized that a fight with a Ukrainian in Germany is also capable of gathering full stands and becoming one of the biggest boxing shows in Europe.
“He understands that I have a lot of support in Germany. We can sell this fight, fill the stadium. Usyk knows that this is a “money” fight,” said Caballe.
The German boxer named two options for holding the fight – the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen or the Merkur Spiel Arena in Düsseldorf. Both arenas can accommodate more than 60,000 spectators.
Usyk has already confirmed his willingness to begin negotiations for a fight with the WBC contender, but at the same time confirmed his desire to have a rematch with Rico in the Netherlands.
“Kabael is an incredible guy. We will discuss everything, the team will talk to the organizers about how we will move forward. Why not?”, said Usyk.
Undefeated heavyweight Kabayel is currently first in line for a title fight: if a defense is scheduled, Usyk must either agree to a fight with the German or vacate the title.
