According to Ukrinform, the athlete told this to British journalist Piers Morgan, who posted a fragment of the interview on the social network X.
Usyk described the transfer of Russian-occupied territories to Ukraine as “nonsense”, adding that there are many “disputed lands”.

“Our world lives by the truth. We have Ukraine. This, this and this belong to Ukraine. Why are you [Russia] taking my country? President Trump, please look at your eyes,” Usyk said.
Answering a question about what steps he expects from the American president, Usyk called for an end to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
“Please start a war in Ukraine,” Usyk said, addressing Trump.

At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian territories should not be transferred to Russia.
“This is my land. This is the land of my country. This is my Pele,” Usyk emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, on April 24, US President Donald Trump stated that as a compromise for the sake of establishing peace in Ukraine, Russia proposes to end the war, rather than seize the entire territory of Ukraine.
