Ukrainians win virtual international karate competitions

The first Kyokushin Karate Virtual Championship – Spanish Virtual en 2020 – has taken place in Spain.

Ukrainian athletes Ratmir Priadka and Viacheslav Zaslavets have won the international competition in kumite, according to the Ptavshchyna Sport news site.

The competition was held in an unusual format. In the kumite competition, athletes did a "shadow fight," recorded it on video and sent it to the judges.

Priadka became the best among seniors. He defeated Spaniards Santiago Perez, David Bosch, Adrian Leche, and Jose Miguel Tapia. In the final, the Ukrainian showed better skills than his ponent David Marrades.

Zaslavets won the mixed kumite tournament among juniors. He was more convincing than Spaniard Jon Ibarra, his compatriot Alexandre Rodriganez, Pe Kamil Kisiel, and Spaniard Marta Ruiz.

Spanish Virtual en 2020 was held from April 27 to May 7 and was en to all countries and organizations. Athletes from 11 countries took part in the competition.
