Ukrainian Shulga scored his debut points in official NBA matches and set a new Boston record

Ukrainian Boston Celtics defender Maksym Shulga played his first productive game in the NBA regular season.

Shulga played his sixth official NBA game. Against Minnesota, he came on the court with 1:45 left in the game, replacing Celtics leader Jayson Tatum.

The Ukrainian scored his first points in the NBA after just 23 seconds of play: he shot the ball from under the basket with an offset. And before the final whistle, he made two more free throws — finishing the game with four points.

Shulga added one rebound and one assist to his first points for the Celtics' main team.

At the same time, Schulze broke an unprecedented club record: he became the first player in Celtics history to score points for Boston and its farm team at the G-League level in one day (12 points for the Maine Celtics against the Cleveland Charge).

In March, it was announced that Boston had given Schulz a full two-year, $2.3 million contract. He had previously been with the club on a two-way deal, playing for the Maine Celtics in the G League and making his debut for Boston in February.

In total, Shulga has already played six official games in the NBA regular season for the Celtics. His longest game so far was in the March game against the Golden State Warriors, where he played 2:14 minutes.

Despite Shulga's points, Boston lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 92:102, snapping a four-game winning streak. The Celtics are in second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
