Ukrainian shooters won two medals at the 2026 European Championship in shot put. Ukraine added two bronze medals to its assets, which they won in the men's team and women's trio.
The third day of competition at the European Shotgun Championship took place on Sunday, May 10. According to the results of the competition, Ukraine was able to climb the podium twice, adding two “bronze” medals to its assets.
The men's team of Volodymyr Pasternak, Pavlo Korostylov, and Maksym Horodynets competed in the 25m rapid-fire pistol team competition. The performance of the Ukrainian shooters allowed them to take third place in the team event. Pasternak also reached the individual final.
Ukraine scored a total of 1,722 points in the final, with 52 shots on target. The advantage of the “blue and yellow” over the Czech Republic, which finished fourth, was only one point. While 27 points separated the Ukrainians from the “silver” medal.

Ukraine was also represented in the women's trio competition in 25m pistol shooting. The trio included Ukraine's record holder for participation in the Olympic Games, Olena Kostevych, Yulia Korostylova, and Anastasia Nimets.
After two rounds of qualification, the Ukrainian team took third place with a score of 436 points. This result allowed the Ukrainian team to reach the final for the bronze medal of the tournament, where they faced Poland.
Ukraine finished the “bronze” final with a total score of 12:4. The competition was held in eight rounds for a win, in which teams received two points each. Thus, the “blue and yellow”, having won six rounds, guaranteed themselves medals at Euro 2026. In the fight for the “gold”, Hungary defeated the Bulgarian team with an identical score.

Thus, the Ukrainian national team has already won four awards at this year's European Championship. Ukrainian athletes have a silver and three bronze medals. Before that, medals were won by Serhiy Kulish in the 50m rifle shooting from three positions, as well as in the mixed team in the 50m rifle shooting from three positions, Kulish together with Darya Dudka won silver.
