
Ukrainian track and field athlete Mykhailo Brudin became the European champion in discus throwing among athletes under 23 years of age.
The annual European Cup in throwing events featured competitions among athletes under 23 in the discus throw discipline. 14 athletes, including Ukrainian Mykhailo Brudin, participated in the tournament.
Already after the first attempt, Brudin demonstrated the best result among all athletes, throwing the projectile at 56.14 m. In the second attempt, the Ukrainian improved his result to 57.80 m, and in the last, sixth attempt, Brudin threw the discus at 58.55 m, ultimately winning the competition.
The Ukrainian's closest competitor was Philipp Schmidli from Switzerland, who finished his European Cup performance with a result of 56.62 m, and the top three medalists were completed by Hungarian Zhombor Dobo.

With his result, Brudin set a European season record in discus throwing among athletes under 23. The previous best result was 58.04 m. Brudin also demonstrated a personal best result of the season.
