Ukrainian Amosov enters UFC welterweight top 10 after defeating Alvarez

Ukrainian MMA fighter Yaroslav Amosov has climbed four positions and closed the top 10 in the UFC world welterweight rankings, journalist John Morgan reported on his X page.

Amosov in May earned his second UFC victory , defeating Spaniard Joel Alvarez in the second round via choke. It was also his 30th career mixed martial arts victory, having suffered only one professional defeat.

Thanks to the victory over Alvarez, Amosov rose to the top 10 of the welterweight rankings. Before that, he was ranked 14th. The ranking is headed by Irishman Ian Machado Gerry, who has won 17 of 18 fights. The UFC champion in this weight class is Russian Islam Makhachev.
