Ukraine's futsal team retains top 5 spot in UEFA rankings after Euro 2026

UEFA has updated the rankings of national futsal teams following the results of the 2026 European Championship. Ukraine retained fifth place in it.

The Ukrainian national team reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 European Championship from second place in Group B. The “blue and yellow” won two victories in the group, defeating the national teams of Lithuania and the Czech Republic, and also suffered a defeat against Armenia. In the quarterfinal match, Ukraine lost to the national team of France in overtime.

According to the results of the European Championship-2026, the Ukrainian national team managed to stay on the fifth place in the ranking. Despite the defeat in the final of the continental championship, Portugal retained the lead in the updated ranking, ahead of the current champions Spain by 128.994 points.

By maintaining a place in the top 5 of the European rankings, Ukraine will be able to claim two quotas for participation in the Champions League next season. Thus, the “blue and yellow” will have two representatives in the most prestigious European cup for the second year in a row. In the 2025/26 season, two Kyiv teams took part in the Champions League from Ukraine: “HIT” and “Kyiv Futsal”.

The UEFA national team ranking is formed based on the results of qualifying matches and the main part of the World and European Championships. The next major international forum with the participation of Ukraine is the 2028 World Cup qualifiers (Ukraine will start in the main round and will receive its opponents in the draw on May 19).
