The Ukrainian youth national football team won its second victory in the qualifying round for the 2027 European Championship. In the match of the sixth round, the “blue and yellow” defeated the Hungarian national team.
The “blue and yellow” team came into the match against Hungary on the back of a draw with the outsider of the Euro 2027 qualifying group, Lithuania. After five qualifying matches, Ukraine was in third place in the group, five and six points behind Croatia and Turkey, respectively.
The next opponent of the Ukrainian national team was Hungary. This is the second head-to-head match for the teams in the Euro 2027 qualifiers, in the first round the match ended in a 3:3 draw.
The Blue and Yellows opened the scoring in the 26th minute of the match, when defender Ilya Krupsky received the ball in the Hungarian penalty area and crossed, which was responded to by striker Oleksandr Pyschur and headed the ball into the opponent's goal.
In the 69th minute, midfielder Danylo Krevsun passed in the middle of the field and found striker Gennady Sinchuk, who made a pass on the right flank, then moved to the center and doubled the advantage of the Ukrainian national team with a shot from outside the penalty area. The Hungarian national team managed to reduce the gap thanks to a goal in the last minute of injury time, thus recording the final score – 2:1.

Thanks to the victory over Hungary, Ukraine has moved three points closer to the Turkish national team. At the same time, the Turks have a match in reserve, which they will play against their closest competitor Croatia.
