Ukraine stopped 0.2 seconds short of the 2026 Paralympic bronze medal in cross-country skiing

The 2026 Paralympic Games continued with an open relay race in para skiing. 12 teams, including the Ukrainian national team, participated in it.

The open relay brought together representatives of all three classes: sitting, standing, and visually impaired. Ukraine was represented in the relay race by four para-skiers: Dmytro Suyarko, Vasyl Kravchuk, Hryhoriy Vovchynskyi, and Serafym Dragun.

Suyarko, who ran the first stage, was the first to pass the baton to Kravchuk, who had lost four positions by the middle of his stage. In the end, Vasyl passed the baton to third-place Vovchynskyi in fifth place.

Grigory managed to win back one place during the race – he handed the baton to Dragun in fourth place. Serafim was in the fight for the podium until the last meters of the race, but he was only 0.2 tenths short of overtaking the Norwegian for the “bronze” of the 2026 Paralympics.
