The Ukrainian women's national hockey team has completed its performance at the World Championship in Division IIB. After five matches, the “blue and yellow” took third place in the standings.
In the first three rounds of the World Cup, the Ukrainian national team won three victories. First, it defeated Mexico with a score of 4:2, then defeated the teams of New Zealand (8:2) and Belgium (5:1). After three rounds, the “blue and yellow” were in first place in the group, claiming promotion in the class.
The key match for Ukraine was the match against the Hong Kong team, which was also undefeated. In the head-to-head match between the leaders, Yevhen Alipov's team lost 1:3 and lost their chances of promotion early.
In the last round, the women's national team also lost: in a series of post-match shootouts, they lost to Lithuania and ultimately dropped to third place in the tournament table.
