Ukraine dropped out of the top 5 in the medal standings of the 2026 Paralympics after the fifth day of competition

The Ukrainian national team finished the second day in a row at the 2026 Paralympic Games without any medals. As a result of the competition, the team dropped to seventh place in the medal standings.

Seven sets of medals were contested during the fifth day of competition at the 2026 Paralympic Games. The “Blue and Yellow” were represented in only two medal events – the men's and women's cross-country skiing among athletes with visual impairments.

For the second day in a row, the Ukrainian national team finished the 2026 Paralympics without any medals. The closest Ukrainian representative to winning a medal was Dmytro Suyarko, who finished fifth in the men's individual start race.

Thus, the Ukrainian team lost two more places in the medal standings compared to the previous day of the Games. The “Blue and Yellow” team, with 10 awards, is in seventh place among the participating teams.

China maintained its lead in the medal standings after the fifth day of competition. However, there were several changes in the top 10: the USA won three gold medals and overtook Austria in the fight for second place. France overtook Ukraine thanks to the number of silver medals, and Norway, having won one “silver”, overtook two competitors at once – the Netherlands and Spain.
