
Two-time Olympic discus champion Valarie Allman finished the competition without a win for the first time in 2023. In Oklahoma, the American athlete took sixth place.
The World Series of Throwing Events was held in Oklahoma, USA. Discus throwers also participated in the tournament, including two-time Olympic champion and world champion Valarie Allman from the United States.
In total, seven athletes took part in the competition. In the first attempt, only four throwers were able to show a result, including Allman – 56.54 m. After an unsuccessful second attempt, the 31-year-old athlete improved her result: she threw 65.18 m.
At the equator of the tournament, the American was in the fight for medals, occupying an intermediate fourth place. But in the end, Allman was unable to make a single successful attempt in the second half of the competition, as a result of which Valarie's competitors overtook her in the standings. Allman took sixth place at the competition in Oklahoma, falling behind the winner Jorinde van Klinken from the Netherlands by 3.80 m.
