The Spanish and Georgian national teams have secured their place in the second round of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying from the Ukraine group. This happened following the results of the fourth round matches.
In the fourth round of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup, Spain and Ukraine, as well as Georgia and Denmark, met in Group A. Spain and Georgia could have secured their place in the next round early if they won.

Georgia defeated Denmark twice during the qualifying window: 89:71 in the third round and 89:60 in the fourth. Thanks to this, the Georgians guaranteed themselves early qualification to the next round – based on the results of the head-to-head matches, they will not fall below the Danes in the tournament table.
Spain defeated Ukraine in their second straight match and secured their place in the next round of the tournament. After four matches, the team has eight points.
The top three teams from the group will advance to the second round, while Denmark and Ukraine, who still have to play their second head-to-head match in July, are vying for the final spot. The first game between the rivals in November ended in a confident victory for the “blue-yellows” with a difference of 17 points — 88:71.
To advance to the next round of selection, Ukraine must meet one of three conditions:
- victory over the Georgian national team;
- Denmark's defeat by Spain;
- unbeaten against Denmark by a margin of over 17 points.
