Skeletonist Uhender and luger Desmond appealed to CAS over missing out on 2026 Olympics: what happened

Irish luger Elsa Desmond and American skeleton racer Katie Uhlander have filed applications with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding their federations' decision not to include them in the national team applications for the 2026 Olympic Games, the organization's official website reported.

In mid-January, Uhender announced that she would not be able to participate in the 2026 Olympics. The reason for this was a controversial decision by the head coach of the Canadian skeleton team. According to Uhender, the head coach of the Canadian team, Joe Cecchin, removed four skeleton athletes from the final qualifying competition, which ultimately affected the points received by the athletes.
