“Palmberg” of the Ukrainian team Artyshuk was defeated and eliminated from the Volleyball Champions League

Anna Artyshuk's German “Palmberg” was eliminated from the Volleyball Champions League. In the round of 16 match, the German team lost in three sets to the Turkish team “Zeren Spor”.

Palmberg entered the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 after losing the first game 1:3. Thus, to advance to the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian team needed only a 3:0 victory, or 3:1 to force a tiebreak.

How did the match between Palmberg and Zeren Spory go?

  • In the first set, it was the Turkish team that took the initiative from the start of the match. Despite Palmberg's attempt to seize the initiative within the game, Zoren Sporu volleyball players were able to complete the set with a victory with a score of 25:16.
  • The second set was also under the control of the Turkish volleyball players, who finished the game with a score of 25:18. Thus, after the second set, “Palmberg” lost any chance of reaching the quarterfinals even in case of victory.
  • In the third set, the Turkish team completed its advantage with a crushing victory with a score of 25:14. Anna Artyshuk finished the match of the 1/8 finals with four points to her credit. Overall, this is the fifth result for the team.

Despite Artyshuk's elimination, one more Ukrainian representative remains in the Volleyball Champions League – Svitlana Dorsman, who plays for the Polish “Developopres”. In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian team will face the Turkish “Eczzajibaş”, and the game will take place on March 11, at 19:00 Kyiv time.
