
The Ukrainian para-skiing team performed in the first final at the 2026 Paralympic Games. Oleksandr Aleksyk and Pavlo Bal participated in the sprint in the sitting class.
A total of 14 Ukrainian athletes took part in the ski race qualifications. Of these, only two managed to reach the finals — Bal and Aleksyk in the sitting class. Aleksyk finished third in his semifinal, while Bal came in second.

Pavlo Bal was in second place at the start of the race. The Ukrainian managed to stay in the fight for the medals until the last part of the race, but in the final meters of the race, three athletes, including Aleksyk, overtook Bal.
In the end, the best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Aleksyk, who finished fourth. Pavlo Bal finished the race right behind his compatriot in fifth place.
The victory in the competition was won by Chinese athlete Liu Jixiu, who managed to overtake Brazilian Cristian Ribera in the last meters of the distance, and the top three winners were completed by Kazakh para-skier Yerbol Khamitov.
