Oleg Plotnytskyi extended his contract with Perugia after the historic Volleyball Champions League title

Ukrainian national volleyball team player Oleg Plotnytsky has extended his contract with the Italian team Perugia, the team's new general director Massimo Colatchi announced.

Perugia's new contract with Oleg Plotnytsky is designed to last at least until 2028. The Ukrainian's previous agreement was also signed in 2024 for a period of two years – its term expired at the end of the 2026 season. Plotnytsky himself stated at the time that he felt the club's trust and “felt like a Perugian.”

“We are announcing the renewal of the contract with the leading player of our team, one of those volleyball players who, in my opinion, has been key for many years, but this season was especially important. We are talking about Oleg Plotnytsky. We are lucky that he remains with us for another two years. In my opinion, this is great news for the entire Perugia. This proves that despite the changes, Perugia has a great project, a great desire to move forward and achieve great results,” said the team's new general director Massimo Colatchi.

In December-January, according to Italian media, there was a possibility that Plotnytskyi would move to another team after the end of this season. According to media reports, Perugia was close to signing a contract with a player with a Russian passport – and thus Oleg could change teams, but this did not happen.

Another player, Yuki Ishikawa, left Perugia at the end of the 2025/26 season, while Oleg Plotnytskyi and Kamil Semenyuk extended their contracts with the team.
