Ukrainian freestyler Kateryna Kotsar has reached the final of the 2026 Olympic Games in biathlon. According to the results of the qualification, the Ukrainian took 11th place.
27 freestylers, including Ukrainian Kateryna Kotsar, participated in the big-eve qualification. Each athlete had three attempts, and the 12 freestylers who had the highest total points from the two best performances advanced to the final.
In the first and third attempts, Kotsar performed a similar program: double somersaults with a left rotation and a mute-grab. If in the first round Kateryna performed three full rotations, in the third – three and a half (at 1260 degrees).
In her third attempt, Kotsar fell while performing a jump, which is why the sum of points for the first two attempts was higher – they were the ones that were taken into account in the final score.
Kotsar started the second jump with a backflip, performed a shoulder rotation (misty flip), two and a half rotations, and a safety grab.
