Hotel in Lutsk housing members of Ukraine's track and field team attacked by Russia

In Lutsk, a hotel where members of the national track and field team were staying for the duration of a sporting event was damaged in an attack by the Russian army on Friday night.

The Ukrainian Athletics Federation announced this via Instagram, Ukrinform reports.

“Today, athletes from the Ukrainian national team who are in Lutsk to participate in the Ukrainian team championship came under fire,” the statement said.

The federation recalled that Russia launched six missiles and 15 Shahed drones at residential areas and the city center. Among the objects hit during the attack, which lasted from 1:00 to 6:00, was the hotel where part of the Ukrainian team, including the main squad, was staying. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the athletes.

As reported by Ukrinform, this night Russia carried out a combined airstrike on Ukraine using 452 air attack weapons, including Shahid drones, cruise and ballistic missiles. The defense forces were able to neutralize 406 targets. In Lutsk, as a result of the Russian terrorist attack, at least 15 people were injured, residential buildings, administrative buildings and civilian infrastructure facilities, including a furniture workshop and repair sites, were damaged.
