
The 2026 World Ice Hockey Championship continued with six matches on the second day of competition.
According to the results of the first day, the interim leaders in Group A were Finland and Switzerland, and in Group B – Canada and the Czech Republic, who won their debut matches in the world championship.

How was the second day of the 2026 World Cup?
- After defeating Sweden in the first round, the Canadian team faced off against the newcomers of the elite division, Italy. In the end, the Canadians won a crushing 6:0 victory.
- Switzerland and Finland also managed to win their second World Cup, defeating Latvia and Hungary respectively. The winners scored four goals in both matches.
- For the first time at this year's World Cup, the fate of a match was decided by overtime. In the match between the national teams of Slovenia and the Czech Republic, the regular time ended with the score 2:2, and the Slovenian national team eventually won.
