Chisora’s manager: Fight with Usyk may take place by mid-October
He said the Chisora-Usyk fight would take place about one-and-a-half months after the fight between Russian Alexander Povetkin with Briton Dillian Whyte, which is scheduled for August 22, according to Klitschko-brothers.com.
"Dereck is good. He's training. […] Nothing is confirmed, but in your mind, you have to have a date to work towards. If you don't have a date to work towards, you are not really focused 100%. […] That'll be six-seven weeks after the Alexander Povetkin vs Dillian Whyte fight that happens on August 22. You normally need six-seven weeks between pay-per-view events ideally. That's what we're working towards at the moment. But Dereck's training, he's eating healthy, and he's looking after himself. eksandr Usyk is exactly the same. He's working hard, he's training, he's working towards a similar date," Haye said.
The winner of the Usyk-Chisora fight will be able to count on a fight with IBF, WBA and WBO champion Anthony Joshua.
