Angelina Kalinina reaches first tennis tournament final in two months

Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina defeated Slovenia's Veronika Erjavec in the semifinals of the Challenger in Antalya. Thus, the Ukrainian reached her first final in two months.

Kalinina started the Challenger in Antalya with a victory over the “neutral” Alevtina Ibragimova, after which she defeated Katarina Zavatska and Georgian Ekaterina Gorgodze in the Ukrainian “derby”, qualifying for the first semi-final in 2026.

Kalinina's next opponent was Slovenian tennis player Veronika Erjavec, who is the 108th racket of the world. The Ukrainian defeated Erjavec in two sets: in the first game the player exchanged games twice, after which Angelina realized another break during the sixth game, which became decisive. The Ukrainian started the second game with a four-game surge and brought the match to a 6:1 victory.

Thus, the Ukrainian reached the final of a tennis tournament for the first time in two months. The last time Kalinina made it to the decisive match for the title was in December 2025 in Limoges, France, and eventually won the title.

UPDATED : In the final, Kalinina will compete against Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, who defeated Egyptian Mayar Sherif in three sets in the semifinals.
