Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina was eliminated from the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid. In the third round of the tournament, the Ukrainian lost to Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka in straight sets.
Kalinina became one of two Ukrainian tennis players who managed to reach the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid. In the second round of the tournament, Kalinina won her highest-ranked victory in 16 months, defeating Czech tennis player Maria Bouzkova.
