
The men's halfpipe competition at the 2026 Olympics was won by Japanese snowboarder Yuto Totsuka.
The finals of the snowboarding halfpipe competition took place on Friday, February 13. According to the results of the performances, the victory went to Japanese Yuto Totsuka, who received a score of 95.00 points.

After the first attempt, Japanese snowboarder Ryusei Yamada was leading the competition, receiving 92.00 points for his performance. While his compatriots Yuto Totsuka and Ruka Hirano were in second and third place.
But Yamada failed to maintain his lead: Totsuka scored 95.00 points on his second attempt, which ultimately put him in first place. Ryusei failed to improve his result and was eventually overtaken by another snowboarder, Australian Scotty James, who was 1.5 points ahead of Yamada in the fight for silver.

The 24-year-old snowboarder thus won his first Olympic medal of his career. Before that, Totsuka's best result at the top level was gold at the 2021 World Championships in the same discipline.
The 2026 Olympic Games for freestylers will continue on Saturday, February 14, when women will compete in moguls.
