The Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Ukraine scrutinized Yulia Tymoshenko’s petition concerning the confiscation of possessions. The judicial body resolved to implement a seizure on Tymoshenko’s financial account, revoking the seizure on a trio of automobiles and a pair of garages owned by her spouse.
The Appeals Division of the High Anti-Corruption Court examined Yulia Tymoshenko’s grievance regarding the impoundment of assets in the matter of alleged bribery of Members of Parliament. The court determined to seize Tymoshenko’s accounts, concurrently lifting the attachment of a portion of other assets. Subsequent to reviewing the grievance, the court resolved to place a lien on Tymoshenko’s account. However, the lien will be removed from a trio of vehicles and a duo of garages situated in Dnipro. As has come to light, these assets are held by the husband of the “Batkivshchyna” leader – Oleksandr Tymoshenko. The release of $6,300 in arrested funds will also occur.
Conversely, the defense underscored that the appropriation of property might precipitate the impoverishment of the Tymoshenko household.
Furthermore, Tymoshenko’s counsel pointed out that the matter concerning his client was not logged in the ERDR and accentuated that this constituted a transgression.
Previously, the Supreme Court of Ukraine partially granted the prosecutors’ motion, arresting the belongings of the spouse of People’s Deputy Oleksandr Tymoshenko on January 21. These encompassed a pair of garages and three cars. The court also seized assets confiscated during searches: half a dozen phones, a central processing unit, $40 and an additional $6,300, alongside drafts.
