On February 25, a tragedy occurred in the Velykopyarivka region of Sumy Oblast: firefighter Pavlo Kolisnyk passed away. His vehicle was struck by a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle while he was driving back after completing his shift.

On Wednesday, February 25, Pavlo Kolisnyk, who served as a firefighter and rescuer in the 33rd state fire and rescue unit of the 1st state fire and rescue squad of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Sumy Oblast, was fatally injured due to an attack by a Russian drone in the Velykopyarivka region, situated within Sumy Oblast. The individual had been part of the State Emergency Service since 1997. On the day he died, he was heading back from duty when his vehicle was targeted by a Russian UAV.

This represents yet another significant and sorrowful loss for the rescuers in Sumy Oblast and the extensive community of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine… the Russian forces extinguished the life of another father, a son, a steadfast friend, and a dependable colleague
