In Vinnytsia, two healthcare professionals were caught devising a scheme involving bogus disabilities. It has been established that they accepted 4,600 American dollars in exchange for paperwork needed to secure a second disability category.

In Vinnytsia, authorities exposed two health employees: a family physician working in a private practice and a department director at a municipal hospital. They are believed to have produced fraudulent medical records and demanded unlawful payments. The Prosecutor General’s Office released this information, UNN reports.

The probe revealed that the family doctor was seeing patients for disability registration and referring them to the department head for sham inpatient care. Evidence shows they pocketed $4,600 for a set of documents required to establish a disability of the second category.
The doctor was apprehended in February, and searches at her workplace and residence turned up the following:
• 956 thousand UAH
• 221 thousand US dollars
• 5740 euros in hard currency
• 87 pieces of jewellery
• preliminary notes listing names and sums of money presumably collected from individuals.
Based on the offenses committed, prosecutors from the Vinnytsia region have notified them of suspicion related to:
• Article 366, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – creation and distribution of intentionally false documents,
• Article 368, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – demanding and accepting illegal gain through prior agreement,
• Article 369-2, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – taking illicit benefits for leveraging influence over the choices of officials.



Requests have been submitted to the court seeking preventive measures and the suspension of the accused from their duties.
