NABU and SAPO communicated allegations of unlawful activity to the prior leader and department chief of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office. They solicited payoffs to abstain from launching criminal accusations and terminating investigations.

NABU and SAPO have declared allegations of illicit activity to the one-time chief of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the chief of a division inside the same office, who sought and acquired unlawful compensation from businesses in return for preventing criminal prosecution of their workforce. This information was issued by the NABU communication department, UNN states.

The investigation shows that they claimed and collected illicit gains from entities to avoid indicting their personnel and terminating legal actions.
Specifically, during 2021, prosecutors demanded $100,000 as payment for rulings that would benefit functionaries of a governmental organization and a private corporation engaged in unlawfully seizing property owned by this government organization. They guaranteed, most notably, securing the closure of the seizure case and guaranteeing that the responsible individuals face no accountability.
After obtaining the funds, the case was finalized. Classification: Part 4 of Article 368 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.
The defendants also orchestrated a system for consistent receipt of unlawful compensation from a private business performing road construction within the Ivano-Frankivsk area. Over 2019–2021, the business entered contracts totalling hundreds of millions of hryvnias, a sum from which it was required, per prosecutors, to remit 3%. In exchange, officials pledged not to initiate interventions about potential infractions during job performance.
“In the period of November–December 2021, the perpetrators received a fraction of the agreed remuneration.
Classification: Part 3, Article 368 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. The inquiry progresses. The full scope of individuals enmeshed within the crime is under assessment,” NABU supplemented.
