An individual was taken into custody in Kyiv for ridiculing the People’s Memorial dedicated to the Fallen Defenders on Independence Square, UNN reveals, referencing information from the capital’s police department.

According to police sources, the detained person understood that his disgraceful actions had made him “well-known” nationwide. Consequently, he eliminated his mustache in an attempt to prevent recognition by the public and evade detection by the police.

Law enforcement became aware of the individual’s unlawful behavior the previous day. In a video shared on social media, the perpetrator, while positioned in the country’s central square, mocked the memorial honoring fallen heroes and demanded the removal of the flags.

It was determined that the source of the post was a 37-year-old Kyiv resident located in the SZCH. Officers apprehended the man at his residence, but he could not articulate the reasons behind his actions.

Law enforcement officials transferred the man to the Military Law Enforcement Service, which will ascertain the extent of his accountability.
