Lviv Terror Plot: Accused Detained for Two Months, No Release Option.

The Halytskyi Regional Court in Lviv fulfilled the prosecutors' petition, opting for a restrictive measure of imprisonment for a 33-year-old individual from the Rivne area. This person is suspected of committing a terroristic act in central Lviv, which resulted in the death of a female police officer and injuries to over 20 individuals.

Terrorist attack in Lviv: suspect sent to custody for 60 days without bail

A 33-year-old individual, a suspect tied to a terror attack in downtown Lviv, has been remanded in custody for 60 days without the possibility of bail, UNN conveys, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.

The Halytskyi District Court in Lviv upheld the appeal from prosecutors within the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. A 33-year-old inhabitant of the Rivne region received a sentence of 60 days of detention, with no option for bail.

Let us recall

During the night of February 22, a pair of explosions resonated within the core of Lviv. Previously, the “102” hotline was alerted about a potential burglary at a store situated on 20 Danylyshyna Street in Lviv. Upon the patrol officers' arrival at the specified location, an explosion was heard. Following the appearance of a second team, an additional blast occurred. A 23-year-old female officer succumbed to injuries sustained in the terrorist incident, with over 20 others wounded.

Law enforcement personnel promptly succeeded in identifying the person implicated in the terrorist action. The woman was apprehended under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine within Stary Sambir.

On the same day, she was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 258, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – a terrorist act that resulted in fatality, coupled with the unlawful handling of weaponry.

The preliminary judicial inquiry remains underway.
