Cocaine Sales Racket Uncovered in Transcarpathia, Camouflaged as Laundry Detergent

In Transcarpathia, a criminal network responsible for arranging the provision and trading of cocaine throughout Ukraine, camouflaging it as cleaning detergent, has been uncovered. Roughly 6 kg of cocaine, appraised at vast sums on the illicit market, has been confiscated.

In Transcarpathia, agents of the law have revealed a criminal ring that launched a route for the distribution and trading of cocaine in Ukraine, concealing the illicit substances as cleaning powder. The Office of the Prosecutor General indicates this, UNN mentions.

As per the inquiry, the scheme’s orchestrator was a 27-year-old local of the Transcarpathian area. He enlisted several associates who assisted in preserving the narcotics in the depot, bundling them, and readying them for onward trading.

The cocaine was dispatched via postal services to diverse areas of Ukraine, including Kyiv. The prohibited element was masked as common cleaning powder to complicate its discovery during probes.

Agents of the law logged the transaction of six packed cocaine bricks, each approximating one kilogram. The approximate worth of the seized items on the “black market” could amount to numerous millions of US dollars.

One of the individuals involved in the criminal ring was apprehended while endeavoring to vend another consignment of narcotics, and another was taken into custody at his residence in Uzhhorod. Both individuals were nabbed in the act.

During investigations of apartments, storage facilities, and automobiles, agents of the law impounded a considerable quantity of narcotics and mind-altering substances, encompassing cocaine, methamphetamine, and mephedrone. Computing devices, cellular phones, packing materials, postal slips, funds, and rough bookkeeping were additionally located.

Subject to the procedural management of the Transcarpathian Specialized Prosecution Office in the Domain of Defense of the Western Area, the detained individuals were notified of suspicion under Portion 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Statute of Ukraine – unlawful keeping, conveyance, and commerce of narcotic medications and psychotropic elements in exceptionally vast amounts.

Prosecutors have already petitioned the court with entreaties to enforce preventative actions in the configuration of detention on the individuals suspected.

The preliminary judicial process is conducted by the SBU Department in the Transcarpathian area grounded on materials from the SBU and components of the National Constabulary.
