In Bukovina, an individual hurled a grenade at law enforcement personnel, resulting in injuries to two officers and was also found to possess a considerable stockpile of munitions. The judicial body decided to keep him incarcerated, denying any alternatives.

In the Chernivtsi province, a magistrate ruled to keep in detention a man apprehended for tossing a grenade at officers of the law, UNN conveys, referencing the National Police force.
The court determined a restrictive measure for the individual under suspicion – confinement without possibility of release. He could face a life sentence for perpetrating exceptionally severe offenses.

On February 19th, in the town of Storozhynets, while acting on a dispatch, a local denizen projected a primed grenade in the direction of a patrol car with uniformed personnel in proximity. Post-event, he absconded, but was quickly recognized and taken into custody adhering to the established legal protocols.
Two officers suffered wounds during the blast, one of whom is in critical condition.
“During an immediate examination of the suspect's place of residence, within an outbuilding, and inside his vehicle, officers uncovered and seized a significant collection of munitions and explosives. Enumerated among the confiscated items were three grenade launcher projectiles, exceeding 300 cartridges of varying measurements, components of firearms, hand-thrown explosives and igniters, along with five objects resembling crafted explosive contraptions,” the report detailed.
Every piece of evidentiary material has been submitted for assessment.
“It was ascertained that at the instant of the transgression, the male was under the influence of alcohol. He had been previously subjected to administrative accountability,” relayed the police force.
The individual taken into custody was informed of the accusation of perpetrating criminal actions under Article 348 (Assault on the well-being of a law enforcement agent, an affiliate of a community association safeguarding civic order and the national border, or a military member); Section 1 of Article 263 (Unlawful management of weaponry, cartridges, or blasting agents) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The judiciary opted for a restraining order for the accused – confinement without the option of securing release through financial means.
The preliminary judicial inquiry is currently underway.
