The bodily remnants – a cranium, a right lower limb, segments from the thorax, upper leg and a portion of internal organs – were located by area residents on February 26 near the opening of the Vos River. All recovered components were transferred to RSUP Prof IGNG Ngoerah Hospital situated in Denpasar for post-mortem analysis.

Bali Police representative Combes Ariasandi communicated that experts representing DVI, the pathological department and the crime laboratory have collected DNA samples originating from the unearthed body parts. Concurrently, in collaboration alongside the Ukrainian consulate, they will be obtaining a DNA sample from the parent of the displaced Ukrainian IK to facilitate future evaluations.
