The SBU’s counterintelligence unit has apprehended an independent psychologist who, under instruction from Russian intelligence agencies, attempted to secure employment at the regional recruitment center in the Kharkiv area. The woman also adjusted Russian aerial assaults on energy infrastructure within the Cherkasy region.

The SBU counterintelligence has detained a freelance psychologist who, at the request of Russian special services, was trying to get a job at the district CCC in the Kharkiv region. UNN conveys this information, citing the Security Service of Ukraine.

As per the inquiry, the woman journeyed from Cherkasy to the Kharkiv region, secured lodging, and enrolled for an interview for a psychologist position at the local recruitment center. She traveled around the frontline locality in her vehicle to pinpoint locations where Ukrainian military personnel and equipment were gathered.
The individual was taken into custody before she could visit the recruitment center. The probe revealed that following the suspect’s remote recruitment, her initial assignment was to calibrate Russian aerial attacks on energy infrastructure within the Cherkasy region.

Apart from Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions, the accused was also apprehended in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. Throughout the searches, a mobile device containing evidence of communication with the FSB, along with ammunition for a firearm, were discovered on the detainee.
The detainee received a notice of suspicion in accordance with Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under a state of martial law). Presently, she is being held without bail. She is looking at a possible life sentence accompanied by the forfeiture of assets.
