Zelenskyy commented on a possible operation against the Iranian regime

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on a possible operation against the Iranian regime, noting that he would support actions against the government, not against the people.

The president said this in an interview with Sky News.

According to Zelensky, the current Iranian regime has existed for many years and is causing significant harm not only to the region but also to the international community. People in Iran, he said, are deprived of their rights, disappear, and thousands of citizens are becoming victims of violence and executions.

“I would support an operation directed against the regime, not against the people. This is a big difference,” Zelensky emphasized.

He also noted that the US and Iran are currently negotiating, and although he believes negotiations are the best option, he doubts the sincerity of the current Iranian leadership.

“I'm not sure that the current regime sincerely shares this idea. But we'll see,” the President of Ukraine added.
