Zelensky will join inaugural meeting of NATO-Ukraine Council – Sttenberg
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, NATO Secretary General Jens Sttenberg said this at a joint press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda on Monday in Vilnius ahead of the NATO summit.
“We will also upgrade our pitical ties. President Zelensky will join us for the inaugural meeting of the new NATO-Ukraine Council,” the NATO chief said.

According to Sttenberg, tomorrow, Allies will address Ukraine’s path towards NATO membership.
The NATO chief also said that during the summit, a decision would be made regarding a multi-year package of assistance for Ukraine with the aim of ensuring its transition from Soviet-era to NATO equipment and standards, “making Ukraine’s forces fully intererable with Allies. And covering critical needs like demining equipment, fuel, and medical supplies”.
As reported, the NATO summit will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12. Ukraine expects to receive clear security guarantees and a clear prospect of membership in the Alliance.
