He stressed that Ukraine will never recognize the occupied lands as Russian: “For us, this will be a temporary occupation.”

Commenting on the disagreements that arose during the negotiations in the Oval Office, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that he simply wants “Ukraine’s position to be heard” and for partners to “remember who the aggressor is in this war.”

Regarding the agreement to end the war, the Ukrainian president noted that it should be “honest,” “fair,” and “sustainable,” and security guarantees should be “very specific.” In this regard, he expressed the opinion that such guarantees should make any further aggression on the part of Russia impossible. However, if this happens, Moscow should feel a “tough response” from Ukraine and its partners.

At the same time, he said, there is still a “long way to go” before the war with Russia is over.

Zelensky also described the United States as an “important” partner, stressing that Ukraine cooperates with the United States, which continues to provide assistance in the form of congressionally approved weapons. He expressed gratitude to the US president for his support, adding that he is in favor of more assistance coming from the US.

Zelensky explained that defense production in Ukraine, as in Ere, has increased, but the Ukrainian side is also “counting” on assistance from the United States.
