Zelensky told what he could not keep silent about at the meeting in the Oval Office

He said this in an interview with Fox News, which aired on Friday, Ukrinform reports.

“When you are in the United States and, for example, the president, vice president or one of the senators — it doesn't matter, major figures — when they say that Ukraine is almost destroyed, that our soldiers have fled, that they are not heroes, that Ukraine has lost millions of civilians, that their president is a dictator, what will be the reaction?” Zelensky noted, answering a question about the reasons for the conflict in the Oval Office.

He added that it is not a matter of personal feelings, but of how partners interact with each other. At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that he strives to maintain partnership relations.

The President of Ukraine noted that such rhetoric had already been heard from representatives of the US administration during telephone conversations, meetings in Munich and at other forums, and he had always tried to correct it politely.

“Please be precise with the numbers. When you talk about the number (of deaths – ed.), every person is important. When you mention a million losses, we do not have a million losses,” the Ukrainian president clarified.

He continued that one should be careful in making statements about occupied and destroyed territories, as these are people's homes and lives.

According to Zelensky, no one in Ukraine will forgive Putin for this war.

“This is real life. This is what I said (during the meeting in the Oval Office – ed.),” Zelensky said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed confidence that his relations with US President Donald Trump can be restored after a dispute that arose during negotiations in the White House. According to him, this is more than a relationship between two presidents, as there are strong ties and relations between the presidents of Ukraine and the US.
