Zelensky, Sunak visit British military base providing training for Ukrainian servicemen

As part of the visit to the United Kingdom, President of Ukraine Vodymyr Zelensky and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak came to the Bovington Camp military base, where Ukrainian servicemen are being trained.

The relevant statement was made by the Office of the President of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Head of State watched the training of Ukrainian crews on the British Challenger main battle tank and other armored vehicles. The President was shown practical elements of the training course,” the report states.

Additionally, Zelensky spoke to the military and the base command.

“I saw that the guys are willing to learn fast. Our servicemen are diligent and eager to learn new skills as soon as possible to return home and use everything they have learned to liberate our territory. I see that they have everything they need for this, including powerful tanks. Exactly the kind we need. And we are doing everything to ensure that they appear on the battlefield just as quickly,” Zelensky noted.

The Head of State presented state awards to Ukrainian servicemen. In particular, the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi (grade III), the Orders for Courage (grade III), and medals for military service to Ukraine were awarded to tankmen, paratroers and mechanics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
