Zelensky spoke about the situation with the EU loan and Plan B for Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the situation with the unblocking of the EU loan remains uncertain, but the Ukrainian side expects the first tranche of financing for 2026 in April and hopes for alternative temporary solutions in case of delays in aid packages.

He said this while talking to journalists, Suspilne reports.

Zelensky said that he discussed the situation with EU leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa.

He noted that the parties are optimistic and are looking for opportunities to partially finance Ukraine in the event of a slowdown in aid packages.

The President clarified that the first tranche of the agreed amount for 2026 is expected in the near future. The Ukrainian side expects that the EU will find a way out of the situation and provide financing for critical expenses until the full receipt of the aid packages.

“By finding alternative temporary steps, the EU must, since it had an agreement with all leaders at the end of 2025 on the allocation of 90 billion, find a way out of this situation,” he stressed.
