Zelensky said he wants US guarantees so that there will be no new war tomorrow

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that it is extremely important for Ukraine to have a strong position in the peace talks. He also emphasized the need to receive guarantees from the United States to avoid a new war with Russia.

The head of state made this statement during a press conference, the results of which were summed up after a meeting of EU leaders dedicated to support for Ukraine and security issues in the Era. The event took place on Thursday in Paris, Ukrinform reports.

“It is important to me that Ukraine takes a strong position in the negotiations. This is necessary so that we have a real chance to end the war peacefully – not just stop it, but achieve a fair and sustainable peace so that the war does not return tomorrow. I expect guarantees from the United States,” Zelensky said.

He added that these guarantees should not depend on who is currently in the White House.

On March 21, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that negotiations with both the Ukrainian and Russian sides had already led to the formation of a “framework of agreement” for a peaceful settlement.
