Zelensky, Pavel coordinate positions ahead of Ukraine-NATO Council

On the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Washington, President Vodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine held a meeting with his Czech counterpart Petr Pavel.

This is reported on the Ukrainian president’s website, Ukrinform saw.

"The head of the Ukrainian state noted Petr Pavel's efforts to bring Ukraine closer to NATO membership and our country's victory in the war," the report reads.

As noted, the leaders coordinated their positions ahead of the Ukraine-NATO Council, the meetings of the air defense coalition, and the fighter jet coalition.

The Czech initiative to supply artillery ammunition to Ukraine and new sources of its financing, implementation of the decisions made at the inaugural Peace Summit and the invvement of as many countries of the Global South as possible in restoring a just peace in Ukraine were also discussed.

According to the President's Office, the interlocutors paid special attention to Ukraine’s path to joining the Eurean Union. "Ukraine hes for a quick negotiation process with the EU and expects the start of bilateral screening meetings regarding Ukrainian legislation," the report states.

As reported earlier, on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Washington, Vodymyr Zelensky and the new president of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, discussed humanitarian coeration between the countries and prospects for joint projects in energy and border infrastructure.
