Zelensky on deployment of Eurean peacekeepers: dialogue continues yet many questions remain
He made this statement in an interview with the Associated Press, as reported by Ukrinform.
Zelensky noted that the issue of deploying Eurean peacekeepers in Ukraine was raised by French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. President Donald Trump.
“I said in the presence of the two leaders that we are interested in this as a part of the security guarantee, but not as the only guarantee of safety. That’s not enough,” Zelensky emphasized.
He also pointed out that many questions remain regarding the command and contr structure, the number of tros, and their positions.
“Imagine, there is a contingent. The question is who is in charge? Who is the main one? What will they do if there are Russian strikes? Missiles, disembarkation, attack from the sea, crossing of the land borderline, offensive. What will they do? What are their mandates?” Zelensky noted.
