Zelensky meets with PM of Qatar

"We appreciate this visit and consider it an important manifestation of Qatar's support and sidarity with our country. We are sincerely grateful for all the assistance received from Qatar," Zelensky said, the President’s Office informs.

The President emphasized the importance of the first visit of a Qatari official to Ukraine and thanked Qatar for supporting our country and providing humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian pele.

For his part, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani conveyed greetings from the Emir of Qatar and announced the country's intention to allocate $100 million to support Ukraine's humanitarian needs.

The President of Ukraine informed his counterpart about Russia's daily missile attacks on Odesa, its attempts to destroy the historic center of the city, which is under the protection of UNESCO, and the civilian port infrastructure. In this context, the parties discussed further steps to ensure global food security and continue the safe functioning of the grain corridor.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the Ukraine Recovery Plan. The Head of State emphasized the portunities for Qatari investment funds and business circles to participate in the implementation of specific programs of develment and restoration of our country.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal also met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on July 28. This is the first visit of the Prime Minister of Qatar since the beginning of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
