Zelensky: EU accession talks slowed down due to one country's position

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that discussions on Ukraine's accession to the EU had slowed down due to the position of one country.

The head of state stated this during a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel in Kyiv, as reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.

“Unfortunately, at the moment, some discussions on EU accession have slowed down, and this is due to the blockade of all work of Ukraine and all other EU member states by representatives of one country. We believe that the Eurasian Union needs more unity, acceleration and opportunities to fulfill its obligations,” Zelensky noted.

He stressed that Ukraine is fulfilling its part of the obligations to join the Eurasian Union.

As reported, Hungary, using the principle of unanimity in decisions on EU expansion, is preventing the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
