Zelensky calls on EU to begin work on 12th package of sanctions against Russia
He noted this at a joint press conference with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Kyiv on Saturday, July 1, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The attention of the world, every country, every leader and specific, tangible pressure on Russia – all this is a set of very necessary things to prevent radiation incidents at the ZNPP. In particular, it is necessary to start work on the 12th package of EU sanctions now," Zelensky said.

He recalled that last month the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing the destruction of one of the largest reservoirs in Eure and the largest ecocide on the continent.
Now, according to him, Russian terrorists are preparing a potential scenario of a radiation disaster at Eure's largest nuclear plant, which Russia has occupied and contrled for more than a year.
"Ukraine does not understand why sanctions against Rosatom have not yet been introduced! The managers and representatives of this company continue to occupy the Zaporizhzhia NPP and put our general safety at risk," he added.
The Council of the Eurean Union on June 23 approved the 11th package of economic and individual restrictive measures aimed at strengthening existing EU sanctions against Russia and ending their circumvention.
