Zelensky at Paris summit: Ukraine provided with new defense packages
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his message on the Telegram messenger, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Strengthening Ukraine, putting pressure on Russia for the sake of peace and coordinating joint security measures are the key topics of the meeting of EU leaders in Paris. The EU clearly understands how to protect itself, and we are working together to ensure greater security for both our country and all the peoples of the EU,” Zelensky noted.

He emphasized that new specific protection packages were provided for Ukraine.
“France has prepared a defense package worth 2 billion euros. We have agreed that sanctions against Russia for the war should remain in force as long as the aggression continues. Military representatives of countries that are ready and able to take concrete and decisive steps to ensure peace have been instructed to organize meetings and work out the relevant details,” he added.
Zelensky said new agreements had also been reached on partnership investments in Ukraine's defense industry, highlighting the effectiveness of the Danish model, which will help Ukraine and its allies produce more drones and other weapons to protect lives this year.
“I thank every leader and every country that supports Ukraine. I express my gratitude to France and Great Britain for making our format – a coalition of those willing and able to work to ensure security – effective,” Zelensky said.
The Paris meeting reportedly focused on supporting Ukraine in countering Russian aggression and ensuring a just and sustainable peace. Discussions also touched on the potential deployment of security forces in Ukraine.
